About Us

The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania (RYCT) is a member-based club and is one of the leading yacht clubs in Australia. RYCT has a long tradition of producing top-class sailors and running world-class events. These include local, national and international events on the River Derwent, and as the finishing partner for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. Members and guests have access to year-round racing, cruising, marina, boating and hospitality services, social activities and excellent facilities for dining, meetings, and social functions.

Your Role

The role is both strategic and operational in its focus. Reporting to the Board through the Commodore, you act as the Public Officer, Company Secretary and Licensee for RYCT. You are responsible for the implementation of strategy. You manage day-to-day activity, lead the RYCT operational team, provide advice to the Board on business growth, and ensure the successful, commercial running of RYCT in all areas of its business.

The Person We Are Looking For

A proven, self-aware, experienced and skilled leader and manager who is values-based, innovative and solutions-focused. You understand change and have led successful change processes. You have proactive, strategic and operational capacity with proven financial and commercial management skills, preferably gained in a hotel management, hospitality, marina, or member-based club context.

What We Offer

Subject to your suitability, an attractive salary package will be negotiated. A three-year contract is offered initially.
